Beloved stranger, you’ve eclipsed my mind.
Our eyes caught eachothers, like an insect housed in a childs jar,
we are both the bug and the child’s inquisitive gaze.
As we sit, we wonder about the other:
what are you thinking,
where will your journey next take you;
will I ever know you beyond the glass, so visibly smudged with fingerprints?
And in the depth of this three second encounter before I drive away,
we are as one person with shared minds.
We acknowledge the other, however fleeting
understanding that similiarly life is,
merely seperated from you through a plate of glass.
A transluscent heart-shield,
acting as protection you would be better off without.
